Mentor’s 5 Powerful Tips to  Remember What  You Study

We’ve all been there—spending hours reading or watching lectures, only to forget everything the next day. I used to face the same problem, until my mentor gave me 5 simple but powerful tips. These changed the way I study and helped me actually remember what I learn.

Here they are 👇

1. Stop Reading, Start Testing

He said, “Don’t just read—test yourself.”
So now, instead of staring at notes, I:

  • Close the book and quiz myself.

  • Try to explain it out loud (like I’m teaching someone).

It feels weird at first, but trust me—it works like magic

2. Revise at the Right Time

I used to cram the night before exams (and panic 😅). My mentor told me: revise in gaps.
Here’s the simple schedule I follow:

  • Day 1 → Learn it

  • Day 2 → Quick review

  • Day 4 → Another look

  • Day 7 → Recap

This way, I catch things just before I forget them.

3. Don’t Overload Your Brain

I’d try to memorize 20 things at once and then wonder why I failed. He said: break it down.

  • Learn 5 things at a time.

  • Group similar ideas together.

Now, it feels way less overwhelming.

4. Make It Silly or Visual

This one is fun. He told me to use mnemonics or pictures.

  • Acronyms (like PEMDAS for math).

  • Silly sentences.

  • Drawing random doodles or mind maps.

The stranger it is, the more my brain remembers.

5. Teach Someone (Even If It’s a Wall 😂)

This is my favorite. After I learn something, I explain it to… well, sometimes my friend, sometimes just my room’s wall.
If I can explain without notes, it means I really get it.

✨ Wrapping Up

These tips aren’t rocket science, but they work. If you’re tired of forgetting what you study, try them in your next session.

They helped me, and maybe they’ll help you too. 🚀
